Yet, it is also one of the most preventable. With the help of cancer screening, we can fight the disease that is accountable for one of the leading cause of deaths in Singapore.

Causes

How should I prepare for Cancer Screening?

You will be informed if you require fasting for your screen, it is essential that you stop eating by 12 AM midnight, the night before your due to come in for your appointment. Drinking only plain water when needed.

In addition, if you have previously undergone screening tests and received abnormal results, please ensure these are brought to your appointment.

If you have a family member who was previously diagnosed with cancer, you might want to consider getting screened for cancer. Should there be an abnormality after the initial screening, further tests will be required to confirm the diagnosis.

What happens during the Cancer Screening?

A consultation will be conducted firstly, resulting in a possible deep dive on information that will be required from yourself for your personal medical history and family history.

Will I need to remove my clothing while performing Cancer Screening?

To provide a full examination, certain cancers such as breasts and rectum will require you to remove your clothing for examination. Don’t worry, we provide both male and female doctors to accommodate to your privacy concerns. 

Your doctor may also request for a healthcare staff to assist during the procedure. 

Would it be possible to arrange for further screenings?

Once the examination and assessment have been completed, our doctor will recommend the specialized tests you require. The cost of this customized package will be communicated to you.

When will I know my Cancer Screening results?

The test can take 2-7 working days, depending on the tests undergone. Once the results have been prepared, we will contact you, arranging an appointment to review the results. The appropriate actions and treatment plans will be discussed accordingly.
